Details

A testament to the artistry of the Grand Tour era, this 19th century micromosaic depicts a bouquet of flowers visited by a butterfly. Composed of countless tiny pieces of colored glass arranged with extraordinary precision, micromosaics of this quality were treasured as keepsakes of travel, and this example has been reimagined by Elizabeth Locke Jewels as an elegant pendant. The scene is framed by a fine bezel set with faceted blue sapphires and handcrafted in rich gold, finished with a slender hinged bale that clips easily onto a necklace.
