Details

An antique 18th-century mother-of-pearl gambling counter lies at the heart of this captivating pendant. Originally engraved in China for English nobility, such counters were collected as tokens of sophistication and good fortune during the age of the Grand Tour. This exquisite example is framed in hand-hammered gold and encircled by alternating pearls and luminous moonstones that echo the gentle radiance of the carved mother-of-pearl. Finished with a slender hinged bale that clips easily to a necklace, it is both a jewel and a piece of history, artfully reinterpreted by Elizabeth Locke Jewels.
