Details

This antique 19th century micromosaic depicts an endearing King Charles Spaniel in a pastoral landscape. Composed of countless tiny pieces of colored glass arranged with extraordinary precision, micromosaics of this quality were produced in Rome and Vatican workshops and collected as prized souvenirs of the Grand Tour. Charming yet refined, the design reflects the enduring affection for canine companions as well as the artistry of the era. Handcrafted in rich gold and finished with a slender hinged bale that clips easily to a necklace, this pendant is a miniature masterpiece.
